The Cows Have Come Home

After arriving at Granada around 5, I found only Sarah Ernest, who came there with the float. I then went around to the front entrace of the building that contains the theatre and got a candy bar. I then crossed the street and got a fun size candy bar from the front entrance of the factory. At both locations the security guard told how they don't normally give the candy to people who just come off the street. I wonder who the candy is meant for.

Upon my return there were more people and they continued to arrive. It was sometime until the parade started. The parade left Granada, went down Chocolate Avenue, went around the back of the park along Park Boulevard. It then went in the parking lot through the Chocolate World entrance and continued through the parking lot to the stadium. John Snyder and Alex Lamoreaux, who deserved it, got to sit atop the float sitting on folding chairs playing War at a card table. The parade was an exhilarating experience. I loved being on the open air, moving float waving at the people, clapping, and dancing to the music playing in the boombox beside me. After the parade ended in the stadium, I found Mrs. Shirk and then waited for her to returen with the jug for collecting money for the children in Ecuador who need heart surgery. Working together, my brother and I got a lot of money for the cause from the game's attendees. I am eager to find out, hopefully on Monday, how much we raised. After we had went through both sides of the stadium collecting, we returned the jug to Mrs. Shirk and then got some water as we were both thirsty. Then we left to beat the trafic that would ensue at the end of the game.

After arriving at home I had a late dinner of scrambled eggs, two small sausage links, two spinach nuggets, milk, and some banana cake with chocolate icing. It was good.
